What is a memorial web site?

It is a site dedicated to the memory of someone who has passed away. The site can be as small or as large as the author needs it to be and can include:

• Biography
• Photos and music
• Tributes/Condolences from visitors

How do I edit my memorial web site?

First you log into your account by accessing the In Remembrance Of account/login page. Then you can select the icons on the account page to perform editing operations for each individual site. The edit layout page also allows you to upload photos and create a slide show.

Can I upload photos to be displayed on my memorial page?

Yes. Uploading photos is done in the edit memorial page that is accessed from your account page. You may also include a caption for the photo that will be displayed when anyone accesses your slide show.

Do I have to know web site programming?

No. All you need to do is select your site layout, colors, photos, and enter any content you desire.

Who can sponsor a memorial and how is it done?

An established memorial that is not subscribed for a lifetime period can be sponsored. Anyone can extend the expiration and become a site sponsor by going to the site, and pressing on the "sponsor memorial" hyperlink. If you wish, your name can appear on the memorial site as a sponsor.

How do friends access the web site?

Your memorial site is assigned an address of www.in-remembrance-of.com/person-name. The exact address will be shown on your account page.

Does it cost anything to make a memorial site?

The memorial site is free for a two week period. If you wish to maintain the site longer, a fee must be paid by anyone wanting to sponsor the memorial. Part of the fee you pay is designated to a charity of your choice.

What are the fees for sponsoring a memorial?

Each three month period to sponsor a memorial is $11.00. If you sponsor a memorial for 5 three month periods it will be displayed indefinitely. Ten years after the origination date the site must be accessed at least once per year (January - December) by anyone to stay online.

Who monitors site content?

The memorial site creator releases content to the site.

Is personal information distributed to anyone else?

No. The only information posted is the deceased name and dates you enter. The site creator and sponsor names may be displayed if they opt-in to displaying their names.
